Website Hosting Fair Usage Policy

A business website needs reliable care and clear boundaries. This policy explains normal website use, website storage limits, traffic reviews, backups and the terms that must be agreed before hosting starts.

This page supplements your accepted proposal and service agreement. It does not silently replace existing terms, impose a hidden hard quota or authorize new charges.

Resource disclosures at a glance

Current published hosting resources and exclusions
ResourceIncluded scope or practical limit
Website storageProject-scoped storage for the agreed business pages, optimized images and visitor documents. No dedicated per-site GB allocation or unlimited storage is advertised. Additional media or functionality is reviewed against the agreed scope before it is added.
BandwidthNormal traffic to the agreed business website uses shared network capacity. No unmetered or unlimited transfer entitlement is currently advertised. Any material upstream transfer restriction or separately priced capacity must be disclosed in the accepted hosting terms; fair usage is not a hidden fixed-GB quota.
Visitor uploadsA public file-upload feature is not included in the standard static website. An upload-enabled feature needs a separately agreed application limit. The ZippyGlow agency endpoint has a 10 MiB total request-body ceiling; individual forms can have lower limits. This is not an upload entitlement for client websites.
Business mailboxNot currently included or operational. No mailbox storage or sending allowance is promised. A proposed one-mailbox option needs a selected provider, funded license, published limits and tested delivery before it can be offered.
BackupsFor activated managed static sites: one archive per UTC day; seven newest daily snapshots retained on the hosting server. These are local, not independent off-site copies. Shared inquiry data has a separate nightly agency database dump with seven snapshots.
Material exclusionsGeneral-purpose file storage, device backups, unrelated archives, file-sharing services, bulk-email campaigns and unlimited media libraries are outside normal website hosting. CMS databases, custom applications, off-site backups, large media and paid third-party services require a defined scope.

1. What normal use means

Hosting supports your agreed business website: business pages, optimized images, documents intended for visitors and normal customer traffic. Launch and Local Growth include hosting while the accepted monthly plan is active, after verified onboarding. The inclusion covers that website, not every workload that can run on a server.

2. Website storage limits

Website storage is project-scoped: the pages and approved assets in the agreed website. We do not currently assign or advertise a dedicated GB allocation for each plan. Server disk space is finite and shared with other sites, system files and working backups. Additional media and functionality are reviewed against the agreed project before they are added. Storage is not a general-purpose cloud drive, device backup, file-sharing service or archive for unrelated files. A larger library needs a measured allocation and any separate price agreed in writing; fair usage is not an undisclosed fixed quota.

3. Bandwidth and unmetered traffic

Unmetered usually means transfer is not sold as a fixed per-GB allowance. Transfer can still be measured for operations, and upstream fair-usage restrictions, shared capacity and connection speed still matter. ZippyGlow does not currently advertise an unmetered or unlimited transfer entitlement for these packages. We review normal website traffic and must disclose any material upstream transfer restriction or separately priced capacity in the accepted hosting terms. This policy does not promise unlimited connection speed or guaranteed simultaneous capacity.

4. Shared server resources

CPU, memory, simultaneous requests, disk activity and database work affect capacity alongside storage and transfer. A site must not repeatedly impair other hosted websites. We assess the specific workload and evidence rather than relying on an unpublished arbitrary threshold. A custom application or CMS database needs reviewed configuration; the current automatic package-care path is for managed static websites.

5. Large files and video

Use suitable video hosting for long videos and object storage or an appropriate download service for large files and media libraries. These services can have separate licenses and transfer costs. We review delivery, caching and expected use before adding substantial media. Dedicated resources or separately priced infrastructure may be needed. A public visitor-upload feature is not part of the standard static-site scope; an agreed upload-enabled feature must state its own limit.

6. Traffic spikes and ordinary growth

More genuine visitors are not, by themselves, misuse. When demand rises, we inspect available request logs, transfer and resource measurements, error rates and timing to distinguish genuine demand from bots or abusive requests. We explain the findings and discuss caching, image and page optimization, bot controls or capacity upgrades. We do not treat a spike as automatic permission to add a charge. No system can perfectly identify every bot or guarantee uninterrupted service.

7. Business email is separate

No custom-domain mailbox or form-to-email delivery is currently provisioned as a package inclusion. The proposed one-mailbox option must have a selected and funded provider, published storage and sending limits, and tested incoming/outgoing delivery before activation can be offered. Mailbox storage and sending limits will be separate from website hosting. Business correspondence is different from bulk-email or marketing campaign services; no unlimited email storage or bulk sending is promised. If a mailbox is later agreed, its provider terms and end-of-service arrangements must be disclosed separately.

8. Backups and recovery

For an activated managed static-site agreement, one archive is made per UTC day and the seven newest daily snapshots are retained on the hosting server. They share the same host rather than independent off-site storage. A host failure can affect both the website and these copies. The shared inquiry database uses a separate nightly agency database dump with seven snapshots; separate CMS databases and external services need their own reviewed configuration. Recovery means selecting an available suitable copy, reviewing it and verifying the restored website. Changes after the latest backup can be lost. Backups are not indefinite archives, guaranteed recovery or a promise of instant restoration.

9. If usage needs attention

For a non-urgent issue, we identify the specific problem and supporting measurements, notify you and suggest practical fixes. We agree a reasonable remedy period in writing under your service terms before restricting ordinary use; this policy does not invent a standard number of days. Any upgrade scope and price must be agreed before charging. Immediate protective action is reserved for active abuse or urgent service/security impact, such as an attack or a workload actively disrupting other sites. We explain what was restricted and why. Ordinary business growth is investigated and discussed, not automatically penalized.

10. Cancellation, export and departure

Hosting runs until the effective end date in your accepted service agreement; this policy does not create a new notice period or change an existing agreement. Arrange export or transfer of the website files and any available inquiry data before that date. The agreement must identify licensed-asset restrictions, who handles migration, any agreed transfer costs and the applicable data-retention/deletion arrangements. The seven-snapshot backup cycle is not a promise to retain data after cancellation. Your domain remains yours, and domain registration/renewal is separate. There is no active package mailbox to cancel today. If one is later added, its own end date, export options and retention must follow the separately disclosed provider and service terms.

Ask about your hosting scope

Bring your expected media, downloads and traffic needs before choosing an upload feature or capacity change. We will discuss the scope and any separate provider costs before work starts.
